Approximately 24 hours ago, I had seen one egg-with-face-drawn-on-it picture too many and decided to make fun of it. I wrote something on an egg, drew an awesomeface and took a photo. Then I uploaded it to DA, thinking to share my sarchasm and lol with my DA friends. Most of my internet buddies share the same outlook as I do on what's popular on DA. Eight or so hours pass while I do more important things like eat dinner, work on artwork and play Grandia (super important there). I come back to see if any of my friends noticed, assuming that most people would have not...the majority of my stuff doesn't get noticed, and I guess that's okay because I'm not really producing quality here. I'm not trying to make things for others, usually I make things because I find it fun to do.

So fast-forward past those eight or so hours and to the point I check my DA messages. Right. This thing, this silly parody egg had gotten the most favorites I had ever gotten on a deviation, and seconded how many views I got on something. I log in early this afternoon today to see that it had more than doubled that.

Huh. So either I'm doing something quite right to do something wrong, or doing something very wrong to get something right. I guess considering the comments people have left, it's something right because we're all laughing at the same thing. That in itself is worth more than the thousands of pageviews that so many stale-themed images on the "popular" page (and my stupid-ass egg was up there) get.

I'll probably still parody and poke fun at people on DeviantArt, and at other things. It's just in my nature to be amused by things like that. My sarchasm is so thick you could cut it with a knife (or spread it...it really depends on how you like to eat). If I happen to get as many people laughing with me again, then that'd probably make me happy. If not, well...I'm still laughing anyway, and I guess that's what matters.
