Dead.

1 min read
I don't have the time to draw anymore.  It's a shame because I know I owe people art from years ago, but I don't have the time to sit down and work on something.  This gallery will stay up just because, but I won't be adding any more new material.  I possibly will in about five years down the line, but at that point this site might be gone entirely (or entirely too dumb for me to use anymore).

You can leave comments, but I don't check the site often.  I guess this is goodbye for now.

I'm still alive

But I don't spend a lot of time on the internet anymore, nor much drawing.  My kid kind of encompasses all my free time, since he's not the kind of toddler that likes to just sit and hang out.  He's quite the busy little guy, and he throws a fit when I'm doing something he can't do, which includes: using my computer, playing a handheld, drawing and reading.

That being said, I still want to find things to draw.  I've done practice here and there, but that isn't very exciting.  I'm thinking of doing Gaia commissions again, but I quit the site and would only do it for cash.  I guess I'd do regular commissions too.  Unsure of what my pricing would be, but probably a bit higher than before.  Not sure if anybody would bite, but if I offer to do art trades or freebies again all these people with things I don't want to draw would be all "draw my shit lol".  So yeah, I dunno.

Maybe I should try to upload something to my gallery first.  Except all I want to draw is dumb crap.

Spread the word, everyone: today is the day you can buy chocolate for cheap.  You can also pick up flowers for cheap, or even frilly underwear on sale if that's your thing.

The best thing about Valentine's Day is the day after Valentine's Day.  Go out and get yourself some cheap chocolate, my friends.

No really.  Stop it.  Subscriptions might be nice for a few people, but a lot of folks get nothing out of it.  Some people already have subscriptions.  Other people do not want to give their money to DeviantArt.  Other people could use something more tangable.  There are already a million contests for points anyway so try offering something different.

Make a contest for exposure, to help an upcoming illustrator or comic artist make some connections in the field.  Make a contest where somebody gets art supplies.  Make a contest where somebody can win some money.  Make a contest where the winner gets a free service to sell some of their prints.  Make a contest where the best entries are auctioned off for charity.  There's so much you can do with contests, so many useful things people can hope to win, so many reasons why somebody would want to win.  By making contests be for points only you limit who will enter.  That's why I don't enter any contests, there's absolutely no point if there's nothing worthwhile in it for me.  That's why a lot of artists don't bother entering.

Do a coloring contest.  Do a collaboration contest.  Do a theme contest.  These are fine, these are what contests are.  But for the love of pete stop waving points above your head saying we can win them when they're such a piddly reward.  Even offering ten bucks is more worth it.  At least somebody can buy lunch with that.

Fail, DA.  Very fail.  You fucked the site up and disabled my ability to comment, report deviations, view my messages and view news for this?  I don't want to read personal journals because they're not news.
